Online event from the series "My Europe": Young Danish woman talks about her country
Wednesday, 12 November at 19:00 // EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt event // Participation free of charge
On Wednesday, 12 November, EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt invites you to an online lecture on Denmark. It will start at 19:00. The background to the country selection is the current Danish Council Presidency. The event will be held in English and is free of charge. Registrations can be made via the cooperation partner EUROPE DIRECT Aachen at ogy.de/denmark-2025.
The evening's guest is Noël Vinther. The speaker was born in the south of Jutland and studied teaching at the University College South Denmark. After graduating in 2022, she attended a Danish Højskole - a stay that turned out to be a formative experience. There she deepened her knowledge of Japanese, martial arts and arts and crafts and experienced the community spirit of this special form of education at first hand. At the event, she will explain what makes Højskolen special, how they came about and how those interested can take part in a semester themselves.
The evening will be moderated by journalist Kathi Roß. In addition to personal impressions, the event will also provide background information on the current Danish EU Council Presidency, which runs from 1 July to 31 December 2025.
A Danish delegation visited Bocholt back in September as part of a German-Danish expert dialogue on "innovations in water management". These encounters illustrate the lively connection between Denmark and Bocholt - both at municipal and European level.
The event series "My Europe" offers young people from different European countries the opportunity to share their perspectives on society, culture, politics and coexistence. Participants can ask questions and actively take part in the discussion via a live chat. The series is organised by the Institut Français Aachen, the Charlemagne Prize Foundation, the Charlemagne Prize Academy and the EUROPE DIRECT Centres in Aachen, Gütersloh, Dortmund, Duisburg, Essen and Bocholt.
