AI workshop in plain language attracts a great deal of interest

Positive feedback on the event on artificial intelligence held on 12 June 2026 // Workshop in plain language

On 12 June 2026, an information and hands-on event on the topic of artificial intelligence (AI) took place, organised in cooperation with the Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre, EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt and the German-Turkish Society e.V. Bocholt. It was primarily aimed at people who are not yet confident in speaking German.

The speaker, Michael Schimanski, gave a clear and practical presentation on the wide range of possibilities offered by modern AI technologies. The participants followed his presentation with great interest, asked numerous questions and contributed their own ideas and examples of how the technology could be applied in their professional and personal lives.

The clear and structured presentation of the content was particularly well received. Michael Schimanski succeeded in explaining even complex aspects of artificial intelligence in a clear and easily understandable way. Particularly noteworthy was the use of plain language, which provided an accessible introduction to the topic and helped to allay any reservations about new technologies.

AI in practice

Another key focus of the event was the practical testing of various AI applications. Participants were able to test different tools directly and learn about their potential uses. Among others, the AI systems ChatGPT, Gemini, Leonardo AI, Suno and NotebookLM were presented.

The active participation of the attendees and the consistently positive feedback made it clear that there continues to be considerable interest in accessible and practical initiatives relating to artificial intelligence. Many participants expressed a desire for more in-depth events and further opportunities to explore the opportunities and challenges presented by these new technologies.

The organisers therefore draw a positive conclusion. It was important to them that people who are not yet confident in speaking German should also benefit from the course.
