Set-up work for the Bocholt Culture Days

Set-up work for this year's Bocholt Culture Days has begun on the market square in front of the historic town hall. From 26 to 30 August, the town centre will be transformed into a versatile open-air venue for music, theatre, cabaret and activities for the whole family. The City of Bocholt's Department of Culture and Education is offering free admission to all events.

With the construction of the large open-air stage and the necessary event technology against the backdrop of the Historic Town Hall, preparations for the Bocholt Culture Days are in full swing. "The Bocholt Culture Days bring top-class culture right into the heart of our town centre. "With free admission to all events, we are sending a clear signal in favour of cultural participation, to which all residents and visitors to the town are warmly welcome," says Jule Wanders, Head of the Culture and Education Department, looking forward to the start.

The five-day cultural programme organised by the municipal Department of Culture and Education begins on Wednesday 26 August with the Cologne-based theatre company NN Theater, which, in collaboration with Stadttheater Bocholt e. V., will be staging the play "Till Eulenspiegel%$.

On Thursday 27 August, the BOHJazz series of events is on the programme, featuring a performance by Christian Hassenstein's trio alongside the Dutch jazz trumpeter Gerard Kleijn. At the same time, the Bocholt Evening Market will be offering culinary delights on the square. On Friday evening, singer-songwriter and cabaret artist FALK will take to the stage with his programme "Unverschämt%$, which features subtle social commentary and humorous songs.

Saturday 29 August will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Bocholt cultural venue "Alte Molkerei%$. The programme includes an open sing-along concert, an interactive drumming session for young and old alike, and performances by the brass ensemble Mr. Brassident and the Motown band MÄLKA.

The festival will conclude on Sunday 30 August with a full-day family event. Alongside the "CityArt%$ art market between Neutorplatz and Marktplatz, featuring over 60 artists, various municipal and independent cultural organisations will be inviting children and young people to take part in free hands-on activities. In addition, the puppet theatre, in collaboration with the Child Protection Association, will be staging the play "The Big Wolf and the Little Wolf%$.
