Proceeds in aid of OMEGA Bocholt // Tickets available in advance
On Sunday, 13 December 2026, the traditional Christmas tree event will once again take place at the cemetery on Blücherstraße. Residents are invited to commemorate their deceased loved ones by placing personalised Christmas tree baubles in front of the former funeral hall. All proceeds from this year's event will go to the OMEGA Bocholt e.V. association.
This year, five Christmas trees will be erected in front of the former funeral parlour at the cemetery on Blücherstraße, providing a space for personal remembrance during the Advent season. The initiative is organised by Susanne Hülskamp-Seesing and Ingo Damhus and is actively supported by the Bocholt Municipal Waste Management and Services Company (ESB).
Anyone interested can now purchase Christmas tree baubles for four euros each. They are on sale at numerous businesses in Bocholt, including Blumen Stratmann, Blumen Willing, Blumen Wilken, Blumen Nienhaus, Ulrich Bakery, Lorei Stonemasons, Marion Moritz Care Service, Salon Figaro, Hülskamp-Seesing Funeral Directors and Hagebaumarkt Frieling. From the first Sunday of Advent onwards, people will be able to hang the baubles they have purchased on the trees.
The main joint decoration event will take place on Sunday 13 December, from 10 am to 2 pm. During this event, baubles can also be purchased on the spot and painted by hand. In addition, Anne Quirmbach will be on hand to artistically calligraph the commemorative baubles on request. The Sporker Musikanten will provide atmospheric musical accompaniment throughout the morning.
The net proceeds from the campaign will support the work of the OMEGA Bocholt association, which accompanies seriously ill people and their relatives on their final journey.
