FW Bocholt: Kitchen fire in the Karolingerstraße - No injured persons
Bocholt (ots) -
The Bocholt fire brigade was alerted to a fire in an apartment building on Karolingerstraße on Friday 29 May 2026 at 16:45. Residents of the building had reported the smell of burning coming from a flat on the first floor.
When the emergency services arrived, smoke was already visible from a window of the affected flat. The occupant of the flat was not at home at the time of the fire. All other residents had already left the building independently and were attended to by the emergency services as a precaution.
A fire had broken out in the kitchen of the flat. A team wearing breathing protection was able to quickly bring the fire under control and extinguish it. The flat was then cleared of smoke using a fan.
Due to the damage caused, the flat is currently uninhabitable. Nobody was injured.
The Bocholt fire brigade and the rescue service of the city of Bocholt were deployed with a total of five vehicles and 13 emergency personnel.
