Emergency paramedic graduating class donates to children's hospice service

Bocholt graduates set an example of solidarity

The 26 graduates of the Bocholt Fire and Rescue Service Academy celebrated their graduation with a special gesture: they collected donations for the outpatient children's hospice service "Königskinder" in Münster. A total of 1,565 euros was raised, which has now been handed over to the organisation.

The campaign was supported by several partners: the "Aktion Teddybär e.V." association from Vreden provided 30 cuddly toys. These normally bring comfort to children in emergency situations in the ambulance - now they will also bring joy to the "Königskinder". "We hope to be able to give a little smile", said Holger Huesker from the initiative. The sports club SC Loikum 77 e.V., in which former class teacher Martin Simiantkowski is active, also contributed a donation of 200 euros.

"It was important to us to combine the completion of our training with a good deed", explained the trainee emergency paramedics. "In our profession, we experience every day how important it is to support families in difficult situations."

The children's hospice service "Königskinder" accompanies seriously ill children and their families in Münster and the surrounding area - from the moment they are diagnosed and often for many years. The work is largely based on donations and voluntary work.

With their campaign, the graduates not only want to provide financial help, but also draw attention to the valuable work of the children's hospice service.
