Postponement of waste collection due to the public holiday on 1 May
Residual waste collection on 1 May is cancelled and will be made up on Saturday
Due to the public holiday on 1 May 2026, the waste collection schedule will change in some districts of Bocholt. Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb Bocholt (ESB) is postponing the emptying of residual waste bins, which was originally planned for Friday, to Saturday, 2 May 2026. The waste bins must be ready at the roadside by 6 a.m. at the latest on this catch-up date.
The upcoming public holiday will affect the usual disposal intervals in the Bocholt city area. The change specifically affects those districts in which the residual waste bins would normally have been collected on Friday 1 May. In these affected areas, the tour of the refuse collection vehicles will be cancelled due to the public holiday and will instead be made up for on Saturday by the Bocholt waste disposal and service company.
To ensure that the replacement tours run smoothly, the ESB is asking citizens in the catch-up districts for their support. The refuse collectors can carry out their work particularly quickly at the weekend if the waste bins are easily accessible at the roadside until 6 a.m. as usual.
