Application phase for the 2026 Sustainability Award extended
Deadline extended until 28 February 2026 // Prize money of €5,000 for the first-place winner
The city of Bocholt is extending the application deadline for the Sustainability Award 2026 until 28 February. This will give committed individuals and groups additional time to submit their projects. The award recognises initiatives that combine ecological, social and economic aspects.
Good commitment deserves a big stage. In order to give as many initiatives as possible the chance to present their work, the city of Bocholt has extended the submission deadline for this year's Sustainability Award. Following the successful premiere in 2024, the prize is now being awarded for the second time. We are looking for projects that show how environmental awareness, social responsibility and economic activity can be combined in a practical way.
The award is aimed at a wide range of stakeholders. All citizens, associations, institutions and companies from Bocholt who have implemented a sustainable project in 2025 are eligible to apply. The size of the project is not decisive; what counts is the innovative character and the role model function for the urban society. The first-placed project will receive prize money of 5,000 euros, donated by Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung GmbH. In addition, a tree will be planted in the city centre for the winning project as a visible sign of recognition. A jury made up of representatives from politics, administration, science and business will scrutinise and evaluate the entries.
