Bokeltsen Treff - Sunday shopping on 27 September from 1 pm to 6 pm

Bocholt. A Sunday shopping event for young and old alike awaits the residents of Bocholt and many visitors from the surrounding area

In 2026, the traditional Bokeltsen Treff will once again take place on the last weekend in September, coinciding with a Sunday when shops are open. From 1 pm to 6 pm, retailers and restaurant owners are looking forward to welcoming plenty of visitors. Strolling around, enjoying an ice cream, meeting friends, shopping, experiencing Bocholt - all this is possible this Sunday. To make getting there easy, parking is free throughout the city centre, and StadtBus Bocholt GmbH is also organising a free special service this Sunday.

Hands-on construction activities in the city centre

This year, the 'Bokeltsen Treff' is drawing crowds to the city centre with lots of fantastic hands-on activities organised by Bocholt-based companies on the theme of construction. Visitors can look forward to pole climbing with Holzbau Kampshoff on the Marktplatz and excavator driving with Schöttler on St. Georg Platz. Also on St.-Georg-Platz, a crane with a gondola from Schares awaits visitors who'd like to see Bocholt from above. And at Tekaath, visitors can try out machinery and take unusual photos in front of a large, inflatable chainsaw. There's plenty to get involved in at Neutorplatz too: you can head up high on the aerial platform provided by Lift it, and try your hand at excavator operation with Mesken Hoch, Tief- und Straßenbau. And anyone who's ever wanted to know what the inside of a fire engine looks like can find out at the fire brigade's stand as part of the 2nd Bocholt Clubs Fair on Neutorplatz. The THW will also be there with one of its vehicles, offering fascinating insights.

2nd Bocholt Clubs Fair

And there's even more on offer in the shopping arcades with the 2nd Bocholt Clubs Fair . Around 70 clubs and organisations will be presenting themselves to the public there - following the great success of the event two years ago - and introducing themselves, in keeping with the motto "'Have a look, find out more, get involved'". "Club life in Bocholt is strong, and the community is valuable. This strong sense of community is reflected in the core brand identity of the town of Bocholt", says Ludger Dieckhues, Managing Director of Stadtmarketing. "The Bokeltsen Treff is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen this community and to showcase and experience the diversity of our town." The clubs and organisations fair is run by the town of Bocholt and organised by the Volunteer Agency.

Organisation and support

Many thanks to stadtwerker and Stadtsparkasse Bocholt, as well as the participating companies Holzbau Kampshoff, Autokrane Schares, Schöttler and Lift it, and Mesken Hoch-, Tief- und Straßenbau and Tekaath for their support of the Bokeltsen Treff. The event is organised by Stadtmarketing Bocholt on behalf of the ISG Altstadt Bocholt and the advertising associations of Neutorplatz and the Shopping Arkaden.
