Together with Torsten Wollberg, the city library is looking forward to the Green Reads eventGreen Reads - Garden meets literature
Book presentation and herbology in the city library // Tuesday, 19 August 2025 at 7 pm // 9 euros in advance, 10 euros at the box office
On 19 August, Bocholt City Library and Torsten Wollberg from the Edible City of Bocholt will be hosting a special new event format for gardening fans. An evening with book presentations, useful knowledge tips and herb tasting awaits all those interested. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the library and at the box office.
The new event format "Green Reads" begins at 7 pm, bringing together two exciting topics: literature and gardening knowledge. "It was important to us to create a new format that combines both areas - and also considers the topic of sustainability", emphasises Klaudia Kroesen from the city library. "That's why it's particularly nice that Torsten Wollberg from the Edible City is part of the evening with his gardening expertise - while we provide the appropriate reading inspiration", she explains.
The new event combines current reading recommendations with practical knowledge tips and small herb treats. The team from the city library will be presenting reading highlights from the novel and non-fiction sector that will take all guests on a journey into literary gardens. They are joined by tips and tricks for sustainable gardening - practical, suitable for everyday use and with a love of nature.
Seed library is also available
A special highlight is the seed library, which will also be waiting for guests at the event. Here, interested parties can return the seeds they have collected in the coming autumn. This completes the cycle started in spring and new seeds can be made available - all in the spirit of sustainability and the idea of sharing. As a thank you, all donors will receive a voucher when they hand in their seeds and can use it to take part in a guided herb tour through the Edible City in Bocholt.
Registration exclusively at the city library
The event will take place on 19 August at the Bocholt City Library at 7 pm, admission starts at 6:45 pm. The event is being organised in cooperation with the Edible City of Bocholt. Tickets are available in advance for 9 euros on the city library's website, on site at the city library and for 10 euros at the box office.
