About the Sunday of Light
The traditional Sunday of Lights in Bocholt city centre takes place every year at the beginning of November. It is an atmospheric and eventful day with light shows in the city centre. The shops are open. The city centre becomes a meeting place for strolling, enjoying and lingering.
Mood & atmosphere
When the early twilight hours set in, a special production begins: numerous illuminated figures in the city centre set accents and create an atmospheric ambience. The combination of light art, shows and shopping turns the day into an experience.

The shops open extended opening hours on this special day so that visitors can browse, discover and enjoy at their leisure.
The Bocholt city bus service offers free bus travel on Light Sunday.

Stroll, shop, marvel, enjoy: Light Sunday in Bocholt is a wonderful experience for young and old alike and gets you in the mood for the run-up to Christmas.
Illuminated figures, a light show and fire performers
Twenty illuminated 3D figures in the town centre, such as Archibald the owl, await the many visitors. As dusk falls, two enchanting light creatures on stilts create magical moments.
Highlights of the day include a top-class fire artistry performance at 4 pm and an impressive light show at 5.30 pm. Let yourself be enchanted by fantastic flames, sparks, lights and pyrotechnic effects in front of the illuminated historic town hall.
Shops open
Shops are open from 1 pm to 6 pm, inviting you to stroll and browse.

Parking is free on this day. A free bus service will be provided by StadtBus Bocholt.
