Instrument carousel: Now available for teenagers and adults too
Music School Programme // Enrolment now open // Taster session on 3 November 2026
From November 2026, a new 'instrument carousel' programme will begin at the Bocholt-Isselburg Music School. The programme is aimed not only at children and young people aged between 6 and 17, but also, for the first time, at adults. Participants can try out various instruments and find out which one suits them best. No previous experience is required.
The Instrument Carousel offers the chance to try out different instruments without having to decide on one straight away. Teachers from the music school guide the participants through the process and help them choose an instrument in a fun and practical way. Groups are formed for children, as well as a separate group for adults.
In small groups of no more than four participants per group, children get to know the flute, double bass, French horn and clarinet. Every three to four weeks, the group moves on to the next instrument. Participants are also allowed to take the instruments home to practise and try them out.
Lessons take place on Tuesdays from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm at the LernWerk (Industriestraße 1). Registration is now open via bocholt.de/musikschule. The monthly fee is 25.50 euros.
Anyone wishing to find out more about the programme without any obligation is warmly invited to a free taster session on 3 November at 4.30 pm at the LernWerk. During this session, participants can try out some of the instruments, learn about the programme and ask any questions they may have directly to the teachers. No registration is required for the taster session.
Whether for children and young people still looking for their favourite instrument, or for adults wishing to fulfil a long-cherished musical dream: the Instrument Carousel offers a straightforward introduction to the world of music.
