Expert committee launches survey on commercial rents in Bocholt

Around 650 property owners will be contacted in writing

The independent committee of experts on property values in the town of Bocholt is launching an online survey to gather data on commercial rents. Around 650 owners of commercial properties will be contacted in order to compile a reliable overview of the local market for the first time. The project aims to bring about significantly greater transparency in Bocholt's commercial property market.

The Expert Committee on Land Values in the town of Bocholt has been ensuring transparency in the Bocholt property market for many years through its annual property market report. In the residential property sector in particular, quality has been further enhanced through the publication of property valuation benchmarks and the qualified rent index for residential properties.

Only sporadic information is available on rents for commercial properties in the town of Bocholt. The Expert Committee has now set itself the aim of compiling a rent overview for commercial properties. "The aim of the rent overview is to create a reliable and up-to-date database of commercial rents", says Kathrin Rüther, Chair of the Expert Committee. The aim is to ensure transparency in the commercial property market. The rent overview will benefit both landlords and tenants, according to Rüther. "The Expert Committee's project is expressly supported by the Bocholt Economic Development and City Marketing Agency", Rüther continued.

In order to compile the rent overview, the Expert Committee is writing to around 650 owners of commercial properties in Bocholt, asking them to take part in the online survey. In addition to the rent level, the questionnaire is designed to collect data on relevant characteristics that influence the rent level. It therefore asks for details on size, fittings, condition, location, year of construction and any modernisation work carried out. The data collected will be analysed exclusively in anonymised form and in compliance with data protection regulations.

""The more data points included in the analysis, the more representative and reliable the results will be for the various segments of the commercial property market in Bocholt,"" says Rüther.

The Valuation Committee therefore asks all landlords who have been contacted to take part in the online survey and thus make an important contribution to the creation of a reliable rent overview for commercial properties in Bocholt.
