Fibre-optic roll-out: Traffic restrictions on Blücherstraße from Monday

Temporary one-way system between Münsterstraße and Viktoriastraße // Diversions and no-stopping zones will be put in place // From around 13 August, a moving roadworks site with traffic lights

From Monday 10 August 2026, road users on Blücherstraße should expect disruption. This is due to work on the roll-out of the fibre-optic network. The works will begin with a one-way system and will subsequently continue as a moving roadworks site.

Work on expanding the fibre-optic network is set to begin in the area of Blücherstraße between Münsterstraße and Viktoriastraße. This section will be converted into a one-way street for approximately three days. The carriageway heading towards the cemetery will remain open. Road users travelling into the town will be diverted via Viktoriastraße and Rheder Straße. As the city bus also runs along this diversion route, the City of Bocholt is introducing a no-stopping zone in the affected area to ensure the smooth flow of bus and diversion traffic.

After an estimated three days, the mobile roadworks site will move further towards the cemetery from Thursday 13 August. From this point onwards, traffic lights at the roadworks site will regulate traffic in alternating directions during the day. The City of Bocholt asks all residents and road users for their understanding regarding the disruption.
