No further items will be accepted for the bulky waste collection in September
Next bulky waste collection day on 5 September
The Waste Advisory Service at the Waste Management and Services Company (ESB) has announced that the collection of items for the next bulky waste exchange has now closed. This popular event will take place again on Saturday 5 September, from 10 am to 12 noon, at the ESB.
""Over the past few weeks, we've received a pleasingly large quantity of items in good condition for our bulky waste exchange,"" reports waste management adviser Petra Tacke. Storage capacity is now at full capacity. Furthermore, this oversupply means that many items cannot be sold and will ultimately have to be disposed of.
The aim of the event is to give items that are still in working order a second chance, whilst at the same time supporting a local social organisation. The proceeds from the sale will therefore go to the AWO's Outpatient Supported Living scheme. AWO staff will be helping with the sale and will be on hand to answer any questions.
Enquiries about the event can be directed to the Waste Advice Service on (02871) 953 34 34.
