FW Bocholt: Vehicle fire on Vardingholter Straße
FW Bocholt (ots) -
The Bocholt Fire Brigade was called out at 02:05 on 5 November to a vehicle fire on Vardingholter Straße.
When the emergency services arrived, the front section of the vehicle was already fully ablaze. A crew wearing self-contained breathing apparatus immediately set about fighting the fire using a C-nozzle.
In order to reach all areas affected by the fire and to fully extinguish and bring the vehicle under control, further measures were required to gain access. To this end, the passenger door was first opened using a Halligan tool. The rear doors of the separate load compartment were then opened using a hydraulic spreader. This allowed these areas to be checked for any possible spread of the fire.
Once the fire-fighting operations were complete, the vehicle was checked again using a thermal imaging camera.
The Bocholt Fire Brigade was on the scene for around two hours with a total of ten firefighters and four vehicles.
No one was injured during the operation.
