Bocholt lights up: Light Sunday on 8 November

Bocholt. On Sunday, 8 November 2026, Bocholt invites you to its traditional 'Light Sunday' in the town centre. From 1 pm to 6 pm, numerous shops will open their doors, combining this Sunday shopping event with a special experience featuring light, art and entertainment.

Around 30 illuminated 3D figures will transform the town centre into a dazzling world of wonder. Dotted amongst the shopping streets and squares, the light installations will provide eye-catching highlights and invite visitors to explore and linger.

Artist Esteffania creates special moments

A particular highlight of the 'Sunday of Light' is the performance by the artist Esteffania. With her extraordinary blend of acrobatics, fire and light, she brings the market square to life and creates memorable moments against the backdrop of the historic town hall.

At 4 pm, visitors can look forward to a spectacular fire art show. Fire, movement and acrobatic elements combine to create a fascinating performance.

As darkness falls, a special light show will follow at 5.30 pm. With creative lighting effects and surprising moments, Esteffania transforms the market square into a luminous stage.

Stilt walking with radiant elegance

As dusk falls, the Luna Floras take to the stage in the city centre. With grace, humour and a touch of magic, they enchant the audience from lofty heights, leaving not just children's eyes wide with wonder. An extraordinary encounter that makes the hearts of young and old alike beam with joy and laughter.

Easy Night Rider

In keeping with Light Sunday, the Easy Night Riders arrive in the twilight with their brightly coloured bikes in the cycling town of Bocholt. Here and there, at various spots across the town centre, they create a stir and spread good cheer with their sparkling lights and background music.

Free parking and bus travel

There are special benefits for those travelling to the event: on 'Lichtersonntag', parking in the town centre is free. In addition, the StadtBus Bocholt is offering a free special service.
