Over five days, from 10 to 16 June 2026, three primary schools in Bocholt took part in this year's road safety campaign. Pupils in Years 3 and 4 handed out "'Think and Thank' notes" to motorists. They were supported in this by the Borken District Police and Ludger Thesing, Head of Traffic Monitoring for the City of Bocholt.

A joint inspection by the city of Bocholt, the Borken criminal investigation department and the Münster district government in local pubs has confirmed suspicions of illegal gambling. The officers seized three unlicensed betting terminals in a pub. The operators now face both criminal prosecution and regulatory measures.

Bocholt city council is informing citizens about changes to opening hours and important traffic information relating to the upcoming carnival days. In addition, the city urgently appeals for compliance with the protection of minors and asks revellers to refrain from using glass containers during the Rose Monday parade. The aim is to ensure a peaceful and safe fifth season for everyone involved.

City of Bocholt introduces new proof for dog tax

Code can be cut out or saved as a photo on your mobile phone

With the dispatch of dog tax notices at the end of January 2026, the city of Bocholt is changing the verification system and will no longer issue the previous metal tags. Instead, dog owners will receive a QR code on their notice, which will serve as proof of identity in future and can be carried either as a cut-out or conveniently as a photo on a smartphone.
