Two-day dance workshop for young people as part of the Kulturrucksack NRW programmeCreative dance: Anything is possible in dance
Two-day dance workshop for young people as part of the Kulturrucksack NRW programme
Dancing, trying things out, coming up with your own ideas and simply having fun moving around: At the "Creative Dance" workshop, children and young people from Bocholt can let their imaginations run wild on Friday 4 September and Saturday 5 September 2026 at the LernWerk Bocholt and discover just how diverse dance can be.
The workshop will be led by the actress and theatre educator Simone Silberzahn. Through playful dance and movement exercises, she will inspire participants to discover their own movements and use them to develop highly personal forms of dance expression and choreographies.
On 4 and 5 September 2026, from 10.00, the workshop invites participants to develop their own dance ideas through playful dance and movement exercises. No prior experience or any particular physical or dance skills are required. Creative dance is not about performance or mastering specific dance steps to perfection. Instead, the focus is on the joy of movement, one's own creativity and personal expression.
Participants are actively involved right from the start and help shape the workshop. They will discover playful methods from the world of dance improvisation and receive inspiration from which to develop their own movements and short choreographies. A wide variety of personal ideas can form the basis for this: personal themes, pictures they have drawn themselves or made-up texts are transformed into movement and ultimately into their own dances.
Creative dance thus opens up a space in which everyone, regardless of prior experience or individual ability, has the opportunity to express themselves through dance. Free from the pressure to perform, participants can discover new forms of movement, contribute their own ideas and experience how something entirely unique emerges from imagination and movement.
The workshop will take place on Friday 4 September from 4 pm to 7 pm and on Saturday 5 September from 10 am to 4 pm.
The programme is aimed at children and young people aged 10 to 14 from Bocholt and is part of the 'Kulturrucksack NRW' initiative. Participation is free of charge.
