Digital building applications
Digital building applications
Since 1 January 2024, the North Rhine-Westphalian legislator has made it possible to submit building applications completely online. You can find out everything you need to know about digital applications on this page.
If you have any further questions, our colleagues from the Department of Urban Planning and Building Regulations will be happy to help!
Prerequisites
- BundID (for individuals) or My Business Account (for businesses)
- where applicable, a power of attorney from the client or the applicant (you can find a template for a power of attorney here, for example)
- Required planning documents (further information can be found here)
Submission of documents
You can submit the building application under the following link: bocholt.meinamt.digital
These applications are currently possible
- Simplified building permit procedure
- Building permit procedure
- Preliminary decision
- Isolated application for deviation, exception and exemption
- Exemption from authorisation
- Application for division of land
Notes on creating and setting up files
Please prepare and upload the relevant documents in accordance with the following instructions:
- Each individual building application must be saved as a single file
- File size: max. 500 MB
- Name the file according to its content and date of creation (e.g. Official Site Plan 2025_10_05)
Please note that the portal offers wizard-assisted forms, meaning that in some cases it is not necessary to download the annexes to the VVBauPrüfVO beforehand. This currently applies, for example, to the
- the planning application itself,
- the building specifications and
- the operational description for commercial installations
. We ask that you choose either the wizard-assisted form or the option to upload a relevant file. If both options are used, this will result in a significant additional workload when assessing your application.
Latest updates/changes
On Thursday 3 September 2026, the bocholt.meinamt.digital portal was migrated to the new xBau version 2.6. The migration has resulted in the following changes:
- NEW: Registration of the person liable for fees
- Project rooms that existed prior to 3 September 2026: In the case of late submissions, the person liable for fees must be entered retrospectively.
- Project rooms created after 3 September 2026: the person liable for fees is requested directly when the project room is opened
- NEW: Number of buildings in the wizard-based application form
- For applications submitted to the City of Bocholt before 3 September 2026 for which additional documents are now required, the wizard-based application form must be completed again and, where necessary, the number of buildings must be added.
- Change: Structural engineering evidence: the page has been expanded. Note: The City of Bocholt may review the evidence relating to sound insulation, thermal insulation, structural stability and fire safety
Unfortunately, this update may currently result in additional work for applicants. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Should you have any further queries, the contact person mentioned above will be happy to assist you.
