The town of Bocholt is sending out enrolment packs for the 2027/2028 primary school enrolment period
School enrolment for the 2027/2028 academic year // Letters to parents are being sent out // Enrolment periods in October and November // In-person enrolment with your child is required, by prior appointment
The town of Bocholt has sent out the information and enrolment documents for all children who will reach school age in the 2027/2028 school year. Parents and guardians will receive the letters by post in the coming days and are asked to arrange appointments with their preferred primary school at the earliest opportunity. The actual enrolment process will take place at the schools in October and November.
The start of the 2027/2028 school year marks the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of many children in Bocholt. To provide families with reliable guidance, the City of Bocholt's Department of Schools and Sport is already providing comprehensive information on the enrolment process. In addition to the enrolment form itself, the documents sent out include an overview of all primary school locations in Bocholt, their office and enrolment hours, as well as details of the childcare options offered by the 'Open All-Day School' and the 'Reliable Half-Day School'.
"The transition from nursery to primary school is a formative milestone for the whole family. "With the documents we have sent out, we aim to provide parents with all the necessary information so that the enrolment process at Bocholt's primary schools runs smoothly and can be planned in advance for everyone involved," explains Björn Volmering, Deputy Mayor and Head of the Education Department.
The enrolment periods have been set as 5 to 16 October 2026 and 2 to 11 November 2026. Further details on enrolment options, the relevant contact persons and any local specifics can be found in the documents sent out. Enrolment is not carried out through the municipal education authority, but directly at the relevant primary school. Parents or guardians are asked to arrange an appointment with the school in advance by telephone or - where available - online. The child must be brought along to the enrolment interview. In addition, the fully completed enrolment form, signed by all legal guardians, the family register or a birth certificate, and the legal guardians' identity documents must be presented.
Schools announce the dates of open days or upcoming information evenings independently on their websites and in the local daily press.
