Campaign to draw attention to accident blackspots
Bocholt - It's a place where dangerous situations occur time and time again: where Bärendorfstraße meets Meckenemstraße (city centre ring road), cyclists repeatedly ride on the wrong side - and are therefore often only seen late by motorists. "We have an accident blackspot here," explains Stephan Wießing from the city's Mobility and Environment Department. "It can happen that car drivers don't notice...
On Sunday, 19 November, part of Münsterstraße in Bocholt will have to be closed between 9 am and 3 pm. The reason for this is the dismantling of a crane.
Münsterstraße will be fully closed to traffic between Blücherstr and Am Kreuzberg on Sunday, 19 November, between 9 am and 3 pm . Cyclists and pedestrians will still be able to pass through the area. The reason for this is the dismantling of a crane at house number 79. The necessary work and the associated closure have been deliberately scheduled for a Sunday in consultation with the authorities and local...
Buses run earlier and longer // More service for citizens
The Bocholt city bus can now also be used for journeys in the early morning and late evening: The journey times have been significantly extended. This should benefit commuting citizens in particular. By extending the journey times, StadtBus Bocholt GmbH is implementing one of the central demands of the city's mobility concept - to offer working people and schoolchildren a mobility alternative. The buses...
District surveyed many households // 7,600 people took part
Bocholt - How mobile are people in the Borken district? The district administration wants to clarify this question by means of a random sample survey. A survey was carried out in September and numerous households were contacted and asked to document all their journeys for a day - regardless of whether they were made by bike, car or on foot. The survey has now been completed, according to the district. Over...
Closure established for next construction phase on the south bank
Work on the new cycle path at Bocholt's Aasee is continuing with immediate effect. A closure has now been set up for the next construction phase. Cyclists cannot use the path between the pedal boat landing stage and the bridge at the Aasee inlet, according to the city of Bocholt.
From 13 September // Sewer connections will be renewed // Urbanstraße 3/5
In order to renew the sewer connections, the above-mentioned area will be fully closed to vehicle traffic during working hours. The Urbanstraße is expected to be reopened from 6 October. Cyclists and pedestrians will be able to pass the work site.
From 12 September // expected to last two weeks // Diversion in place
From 12 September, Barloer Weg, from the Sauerbruchstr. / Klemens-Honsel-Weg roundabout, is expected to be closed for a fortnight. The reason for this is road rehabilitation work, which will be carried out under full closure for work safety reasons. Traffic coming from the north will be routed via the street "Im Ellerbrock", pedestrians and cyclists can continue to pass the footpath/cycleway.
Semi-lateral closure due to sewer work // Detour to follow
In the industrial area of Bocholt, there will be traffic disruptions in the area of the street "Schlavenhorst" due to necessary sewer work.
Construction site moves to the opposite side of the road // Closures necessary // Continued one-way direction Rhede
The next construction phase has begun on Uhlandstraße. The construction area is moving to the opposite side, which means that the cycle path and footpath in this area must be closed. Vehicle traffic will continue to be guided by one-way traffic in the direction of Rhede. People on foot can walk safely past the construction site on the newly constructed area of the footpath, and cyclists heading north can...
