The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre, Stadttheaterverein Bocholt e.V. and Europe Direct Bocholt are bringing democracy to the stage: to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, Placebotheater Münster will be presenting living democracy at LernWerk on Friday, 9 May 2025 at 6.30 pm.
The award-winning ensemble reacts with lightning speed to the ideas of the audience and implements them playfully, musically and eloquently in their improvisation skills. The audience plays a democratic role in shaping the colourful and cheerful evening, when a divorce suddenly becomes a celebration and emotional outbursts of melancholy and insane joy merge.
The improvisations are performed without a script, but with plenty of humour, facial expressions, gestures and an exceptionally restless audience. Awarded the Cologne Gloria Crown and the City of Münster's Impro-Cup, the Placebo Theatre has been a well-rehearsed ensemble of professional actors, musicians and comedians for more than 25 years. One thing is for sure: surprise is guaranteed!
The event is part of the project "Shaping Diversity - Participate. Learn. Develop. (Er)Leben." and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science. Registration is requested: Advance tickets at the adult education centre cost 12 euros, box office tickets 15 euros. Further information, including registration, is available at the VHS office in Bocholt, Industriestraße 1, the Rhede and Isselburg branches or via www.vhs-bocholt.de.
