General waste and organic waste bins are collected alternately every two weeks.

With the exception of the so-called 60-litre general waste bin, which is actually a 120-litre bin emptied every four weeks.

Paper and recycling bins are emptied every 4 weeks.

With the exception of the city centre, where collection takes place every 2 weeks.

Please contact the waste disposal and service company by telephone or e-mail to change the number of bins.

Individual fee-neutral changes to paper or yellow bins can be made conveniently via the online services for paper bins / yellow bins:

• Online: You can find the waste calendar for your street here.
• Mobile: You can download our ESB app for your smartphone for all important data. (For the Android and iOS operating systems)
• Paper version: You will receive the classic paper waste calendar by post at the end of each year.

We empty most waste containers in Bocholt with a so-called side-loader vehicle. With this vehicle technology, the containers are emptied by the driver from the driver's cab. The loading process is controlled by a computer and monitored by a camera.

A few rules must be observed when providing the waste containers:

• Place the waste bins on the street by 6 a.m., at the earliest the evening before.
• Return the bins to your own property after emptying.
• The lid must be closed.
• Place 2 bins of the same size very close together in pairs
• For mixed pairs, the smaller bin should be on the left when viewed from the street.
• Leave a distance of approx. 20 cm between two pairs
• The lid opening faces the street, the handle faces the property.
• Leave sufficient space to all sides and to obstacles.
• Please also consider overhanging roofs, overhanging trees and road signs.
