Last Sunday, the Bocholt-Isselburg Music School celebrated the 50th anniversary of its traditional Mother's Day concert with a festive event in the sports hall of the Euregiogymnasium. In front of numerous guests, current and former musicians presented a challenging programme spanning five decades of orchestral work. The emotional highlight was a joint finale by all the participating ensembles.

The string orchestra of the Bocholt-Isselburg music school visited the Lithuanian twin town of Akmenė in April for a five-day concert and meeting trip. In addition to intensive joint rehearsals and a successful final concert, the focus of the visit was on personal cultural exchange with host families.

Mother's Day concert at the music school celebrates its 50th anniversary

On 10 May, the Bocholt-Isselburg Music School will be holding its traditional Mother's Day concert with all of the music school's wind orchestras. It starts at 11 a.m. and takes place in the sports hall of the Euregio Gymnasium (Unter den Eichen 6). Seating is limited, free tickets can be booked online.

This year, the 40-strong children's musical group from the Bocholt-Isselburg music school is bringing an exciting jungle adventure to the stage: "WIMBA - und das Geheimnis des Urwalds" by Gerhard A. Meyer, Ulrike Weiler and Gerhard Weiler. The choir club and the JeKits choir from the Maria Montessori School in Bocholt will be taking part again.

Jugend musiziert: Two music students have qualified for the state competition

Once again this year, a total of 12 pupils from Bocholt achieved outstanding results at the regional level of the 63rd "Jugend musiziert" competition. Music students Matilda Varone and Katharina Theling qualified for the NRW state competition, which will take place in Dortmund from 20 to 24 March.
