Restrictions due to tree maintenance work on Herzogstraße
One-way closure to motor vehicle traffic; 30 km/h speed limit in the work zone
Due to upcoming tree maintenance work, there will be temporary restrictions on vehicle and pedestrian traffic along Herzogstraße. To improve road safety, the speed limit will be reduced to 30 km/h in the vicinity of the respective work zones. One lane will remain open to motor vehicles in each of the affected sections.
From 24 August until, it is expected, 4 September 2026, the City of Bocholt will be carrying out necessary tree maintenance work on Herzogstraße in order to preserve the health of the tree population and ensure road safety. The works will cover two sections of Herzogstraße: the first between Dietrichstraße and Markgrafenstraße, and the second from Markgrafenstraße up to house number 100, just before the junction with Dinxperloer Straße.
Whilst the maintenance work is being carried out on the respective sections, motor vehicle traffic will be channelled past the work sites via a single-lane closure. To ensure the safety of all road users, the speed limit in the immediate vicinity of the works will be reduced to 30 km/h.
There will also be changes for pedestrians and cyclists. Pedestrians will be directed to the opposite side of the pavement in the vicinity of the worksites. Thanks to the reduced speed limit on the carriageway, cyclists will be able to pass through the construction zone safely on the road alongside motorised traffic. The City of Bocholt asks all residents and road users for their understanding regarding any inconvenience caused.
