Kick-off event "Together in Bocholt" sets an example against loneliness
Talk with NRW Social Affairs Minister Laumann // Register now!
On Thursday, 3 July 2025, the kick-off event for the "Together in Bocholt" campaign will take place in the canteen on Benölkenplatz. Under the motto "No one should be or become lonely in Bocholt", the city invites all interested parties to come together to talk about ways to overcome loneliness and actively participate in an urban society based on solidarity.
The event will focus on personal experiences, scientific perspectives and existing and new programmes to combat loneliness. In particular, people who feel lonely are invited, as well as anyone who would like to get involved - including young people, senior citizens, single parents, newcomers and people with disabilities.
Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff and NRW Social Affairs Minister Karl-Josef Laumann will provide impetus, as will Professor Dr Ricarda Steinmayr with a lecture on scientific findings on the subject of loneliness. The evening will be moderated by Raimund Stroick.
Following the discussion, the existing support programme in Bocholt will also be examined - with the aim of developing new ideas for even greater togetherness.
The event starts at 5.30 p.m. with a "Come together". Participation is free of charge, but prior registration is required. Interested parties can find the registration form at www.bocholt.de/gemeinsam - registration is also possible by e-mail to gemeinsam(at)bocholt(dot)de or by telephone on 02871 953 1210.
