City of Bocholt joins state programme // Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff signs charter
By signing the charter on reconciling work and care, the city of Bocholt is sending out an important signal as a care-friendly employer. Its active endeavours to create a working environment in which employees with caring responsibilities can also realise their professional goals have now also been recorded in the form of a declaration of commitment.
Due to demographic change, the number of people in need of care in NRW is rising continuously. Most of them are cared for at home by their relatives. In many cases, they are not only carers, but also have other gainful employment. This double burden can have a negative impact on physical and mental health.
In order to counteract this and to be able to reconcile caring with work in such a challenging life situation, an understanding working environment that is geared towards this is required. Companies, authorities and organisations that are committed to achieving this are invited to take part in the state programme for reconciling work and care.
As a strong employer in the region, the city of Bocholt is flying the "flag" and is joining the state programme for reconciling work and care. All employees of the city of Bocholt have access to professionally trained contact persons who can provide support if required and are available to answer any questions, concerns or suggestions. In addition, informative seminars on various topics relating to care and nursing are organised on a regular basis.
