Full closure of Mussumer Ringstraße expected from 12 January

Major construction site on the K27 starts in January 2026 // Mussumer Ringstraße closed in the Enkhook area

On Monday, 12 January 2026, extensive construction work will begin on the Mussumer Ringstraße (K27), which will require a full closure in the area of the Enkhook junction. Traffic will be widely diverted during the works, which are scheduled to last several months. Cyclists will have their own local alternative route.

Due to the construction of the major roadworks, it will no longer be possible to drive on the section at the Enkhook junction from the second weekend in January. In order to ensure a smooth flow of traffic despite the closure, a corresponding diversion plan has been drawn up.

Motorised traffic will already be informed of the closure in the district of Lankern. The official diversion route leads via Bocholter Straße, Dingdener Straße, Schaffeldstraße and Alfred-Flender-Straße. This route is signposted and applies to both directions of travel. Road users are asked to follow the signs and allow a little more travelling time if necessary.

Special regulations apply to cycle traffic. In order to save cyclists long detours, a separate and local diversion has been set up and signposted. The city of Bocholt asks all affected residents and road users for their understanding for the necessary construction measures.

The construction work serves to reorganise traffic and includes the creation of new turning lanes to better distribute traffic from the industrial area. As the road has to be widened for this, the existing cycle path will be relocated to the side and rebuilt. A new pavement is also planned.
