Due to construction work, Friesenstraße will be fully closed to motorised traffic from Wednesday, 15 April 2026. The construction work is expected to last until 29 April. Access to the neighbouring supermarkets will be guaranteed via signposted diversions.
Friesenstraße will have to be temporarily closed to cars and lorries from 15 April for necessary work by stadtwerker. The construction work is expected to take two weeks and should be completed on 29 April. As the access roads to several large supermarkets are located in the affected area, the city council has arranged for adapted traffic routing. Drivers will already be made aware of the closure from Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße and diverted accordingly.
Direct access to the car parks of the supermarkets via Welfenstraße will not be possible during this period. However, customers can still reach the stores without any problems by turning into Friesenstraße from Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße. The roadworks will not cause any significant restrictions for non-motorised traffic. Pedestrians and cyclists can pass through the roadworks. The city of Bocholt asks all road users for their understanding for the temporary restrictions in road traffic.
