FW Bocholt: Flat fire on the 3rd floor of an apartment block in the early evening of the Rose Monday procession. No persons injured.

FW Bocholt (ots) -

On the evening of Shrove Monday, the Bocholt fire brigade was called to a flat fire. On site, it turned out that a kitchen in a flat on the 3rd floor of an apartment block was on fire. No persons in the flat were in danger. There was also no danger to the other residents at any time. They were able to remain in their flats during the operation. The attack team entered the flat under respiratory protection. They placed a smoke apron at the flat entrance door to keep the stairwell as smoke-free as possible. This measure was supported by the active ventilation of an electric fan in front of the front door.
The fire was quickly brought under control and the remains of the fire were removed from the flat.
Due to the fire safety guard still present for the Rose Monday parade, the full-time fire brigade with its 11 firefighters was able to deploy with 6 additional volunteers. Two fire engines, a turntable ladder, a command vehicle and an ambulance from the German Red Cross (DRK), which was offered to us by the Rose Monday procession's operations management, were deployed. When the alarm was raised, all the ambulances from the full-time fire station were on duty. The rescue service had already been deployed 24 times in and around the carnival procession before this fire.
