Dispatch of family passes for 2026 to start shortly

Delayed delivery due to technical problems // Review of proceedings announced for 2027

The city of Bocholt will be sending out family passes for the 2026 calendar year to citizens in the coming days. The dispatch had been delayed due to technical difficulties with an external service provider, but could now be initiated with an alternative solution. Those entitled will therefore receive their passes by post shortly.

The city council has announced that the family passports for 2026 are now ready for dispatch and will reach recipients in the next few days. Delivery was originally planned earlier, but a contracted service provider experienced unexpected problems that temporarily interrupted the process.

In order to ensure timely delivery to authorised persons, the city of Bocholt has developed and implemented an alternative delivery procedure at short notice. For the future, the administration has also announced that it will fundamentally review the internal processes before issuing the family passes in 2027 to ensure timely delivery in the coming year.

The family pass offers holders advantages in city life. These include, for example, discounts on admission to the water world of the Bahia adventure pool and corresponding discounts on courses and educational programmes offered by the Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg adult education centre. Cultural participation is also promoted, as children's tickets for events at the municipal theatre and the family reading pass from the municipal library are also reduced by half. The pass is non-transferable and is valid for one calendar year in conjunction with a valid identity card.

As a rule, families and single parents with their main residence in Bocholt receive the document automatically at the beginning of the year. However, certain groups of people must take action themselves, as their data cannot be recorded automatically. This applies in particular to students with their main place of residence in Bocholt and families with children of full age who continue to receive child benefit. Parents who live separately and look after their children in the so-called 50:50 alternating model are also asked to apply for the family pass directly at the citizens' office of the city of Bocholt.

Further information on the family pass can be obtained from the Youth and Family Department of the City of Bocholt on 02871/953-2394.
