Meet-Read & Eat: Reading: "Krach im Sonnental"
Reading with Klaus Cordes on 15 September at the Media Centre in Bocholt // Part of the district-wide literacy campaign // In partnership with EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt
The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre and EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt invite you to a special reading with refreshments at the Media Centre, Hindenburgstraße 5, on Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 6.30 pm. The novel "Krach im Sonnental" will be presented, read by Klaus Cordes from Bocholt.
The book is aimed at adults who would like to (re)discover the joy of reading. The story - written at A2 language level - tells of Hubertus Stauder, an 80-year-old former headteacher who lives in a care home without any zest for life. It is only when a new resident moves in that his daily routine is shaken up, and a story unfolds about friendship, change and the courage to face life.
The reading will be accompanied by a free snack that ties in with the book's theme. The event is taking place as part of the district-wide campaign organised by the "Round Table on Literacy and Basic Education" in the Borken district and is supported by "Spaß-am-Lesen-Verlag" from Münster.
Further information is available at the VHS office in Bocholt, Industriestraße 1, at the Rhede and Isselburg branches, and online atvhs.bocholt.de. You can also register by calling (02871) 953 2277. The course number for this event is BW1105.
