German-Dutch border talks on the Hellweg project
19 February at 19:30 in the Kulturhus NOABERZ in Dinxperlo // VHS Bocholt, the municipality of Aalten (NL) and EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt invite you to attend
Interested citizens are invited to Dinxperlo in the Netherlands on 19 February 2026 to find out about the current status of the Hellweg/Heelweg project. As part of the German-Dutch Border Talks, experts from the two neighbouring municipalities will present the implementation phase of the road redesign. The event offers space for questions and direct dialogue with those responsible.
The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre is organising the evening together with the municipality of Aalten and EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt. The discussion at the Kulturhus NOABERZ will focus on the important infrastructure project on the direct border. The city of Bocholt and the municipality of Aalten are jointly realising the redesign of the border road. After citizens were involved in the planning process in advance, the project is now in the concrete realisation phase.
To give those present a detailed insight, Alissa Rötker from the city of Bocholt and Simon Wiggers from the municipality of Aalten will explain the project. They will go into technical details and the timetable and will be available to answer questions from the audience. The evening will be hosted by Karl Eller. The tried and tested principle is that everyone can speak in their own language. Knowledge of Dutch is not required for participation, as translation will be provided if necessary.
The Bocholt Adult Education Centre accepts registrations at vhs.bocholt.de, by email vhs(at)bocholt(dot)de or by phone 02871 / 953 2277. The course number is BV1113. Admission is free.
