Freedom meal in Dinxperwick a complete success

Bocholt - The theme of this year's Freedom Meal was "80 years and peace and freedom" and was therefore celebrated in a special format. The guests walked from the market square in Dinxperlo to the Michaelstreff in Suderwick via a walking dinner with music, readings, dancing and smugglers' stories. The freedom soup was served there.

This year's freedom meal had a special format to mark "80 years of peace and freedom". Before eating the freedom soup created especially for 5 May, the guests strolled from the Prins-Claus-Plein in Dinxperlo to the Michaelstreff in Suderwick. Along the way, there was music, dancing, poetry, stories and snacks from Ukrainian volunteers and members of the Ahmadiyya community. One poetry reading even took place in the tavern as a symbolic location.

Volunteering

Numerous volunteers, including those from the Bocholt Volunteer Agency, made the event possible. The German-Dutch organisation team was delighted to see an even higher number of participants than in previous years and thanked the contributors for their great commitment.

Sponsorship

The project " Freedom Meal - 80 Years of Peace and Freedom" is made possible by the Interreg programme Germany-Netherlands and its programme partners and is co-financed by the European Union (EU).
