Creative city tour seeks stories and ideas // Entries can be submitted by email until 15 June
On Tuesday 30 June, Bocholt will become the stage for a special cultural project. As part of Stadt.Land.Bühne, an interactive cultural walk will be created that will make the voices of the city audible. All Bocholters are invited to actively participate in this event.
The organisers are now looking for texts and ideas from Bocholt to help shape the programme. Poems, short scenes, personal thoughts, memories, wishes or observations can be submitted. Anything that moves the city and the local people can become part of the walk. Entries must be sent by email to info(at)stadtlandbuehne(dot)de by the closing date on 15 June.
The submitted contributions will then be artistically curated and condensed into thematic stations. Possible focal points include topics such as memory, the future, sounds of the city or hidden places. "The interplay of citizens' texts, professional performance and joint dialogue creates a lively work of art in the heart of our city", says Jule Wanders, Head of Culture and Education at the City of Bocholt, hoping for a high level of participation from Bocholt residents. Valentina Vlasic, director of the co-organising LWL-Museum Textilwerk, adds: "With this project, we want to give citizens the opportunity to experience their city from a completely new perspective and actively enrich it with their own stories."
During the walk, a group moves through Bocholt together with two artists. The routes are based on the contributions of the citizens, but can also be determined spontaneously on site by the participants. The texts submitted will be incorporated into the tour in a variety of ways by being spoken, acted or translated into movement. Spontaneous reactions and audience participation are also expressly welcome during the walk.
The walk begins at 17:00 in front of the Historic Town Hall and ends with a picnic, where the focus is on exchange and encounters. All participants will also receive a printed reader summarising the submitted contributions. The project aims to make collective creativity in urban space tangible and combine individual perspectives into a shared artistic experience.
The event is being organised in cooperation with the LWL-Museum Textilwerk. The project is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Regional Culture Programme NRW, the LWL Cultural Foundation, the Werte-Stiftung-Münsterland and the Gesellschaft für Musik- und Theaterfreunde.
