VHS lecture explains the advantages of electromobility
VHS Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg offers lecture with energy expert Michael Birkhan // Topics: Economy, environment, batteries and myths about electric cars
The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre invites you to a lecture on electromobility on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Media Centre, Alter Bahnhof Bocholt, Hindenburgstraße 5. Under the title "Electric cars - Why a new petrol, diesel or hybrid car is not a good idea", speaker Michael Birkhan will explain why switching to an electric car is worthwhile - even after the discontinuation of state subsidies.
The evening will focus on economic efficiency, environmental aspects and the suitability of modern electric vehicles for everyday use. Birkhan shows that electric cars - especially as young used cars - have long since developed into an attractive and affordable alternative. In addition to facts and figures, he also discusses battery technology, charging infrastructure and practical tips for buying or leasing.
International examples, for example from Norway, will be used to explain how electromobility also works successfully in regions with long distances. The presentation is aimed at anyone who is planning to make the switch or simply wants to find out more. Questions from the audience are expressly encouraged.
Admission is 6 euros (reduced rate 5 euros). Registration via the VHS website is possible and secures a place; remaining tickets are available at the box office.
