Reading "Krach im Sonnental" at the VHS Bocholt

The Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre invites you to a special reading at the LernWerk on Friday, 14 November 2025 at 18:00. The novel "Krach im Sonnental" will be presented, read by Klaus Cordes from Bocholt.

The book is aimed at adults who want to (re)discover the joy of reading. The story - written at language level A2 - tells the story of Hubertus Stauder, an 80-year-old former headmaster who lives in a retirement home with no zest for life. It is only when a new flatmate moves in that his everyday life begins to change and a story about friendship, change and the courage to face life unfolds.

The reading will be accompanied by a free snack that matches the theme of the book. The event is part of the district-wide campaign of the "Round Table for Literacy and Basic Education" in the Borken district and is supported by "Spaß-am-Lesen-Verlag" from Münster.
