Literature circle makes anniversary donation to UNICEF

Proceeds from the anniversary event of the course "Women read and discuss"

Representatives of the city council have handed over a symbolic cheque for 140 euros to the children's charity UNICEF. The sum came from an anniversary event of the VHS course "Women read and discuss", which has been running for four decades under the direction of Anne E. Zorn.

Björn Volmering, Head of the Department of Culture, Jule Wanders and Isabel Testroet, Director of the Adult Education Centre, jointly presented the symbolic cheque, the proceeds of which will go to the children's charity UNICEF. The donation of 140 euros was collected during the celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the VHS format "Women read and discuss". The city of Bocholt is thus not only honouring the anniversary of the course, but also the willingness of the participants to take on social responsibility beyond the literary exchange.

The educational offer under the direction of Anne E. Zorn is a special feature of the adult education centre's programme. For four decades, the course leader has guided the group through the world of literature with great personal commitment and dedication.
