BOHJazz concert in the LernWerk extension

Jazz guitarist Christian Hassenstein's trio plays every two months at Appendix, the LernWerk extension on Industriestraße in Bocholt. The guest soloist at this concert is Marcus Bartelt on baritone saxophone. The concert starts at 8 pm and admission is free. As usual, visitors can look forward to the unique sounds of this fascinating combination.

Marcus Bartelt lives in Cologne and is an experienced saxophonist (tenor and baritone saxophone) and woodwind player. He is in demand in Germany and internationally as a solo artist, sideman and studio musician. In the 1990s, he studied jazz saxophone in Hilversum and played in the German National Youth Jazz Orchestra under Peter Herbolzheimer.

Active in the Rhine region since 1994, he has worked with renowned artists and bands such as Bob Brookmeyer, the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, DE PHAZZ, Chilly Gonzales and the German radio big bands. He has worked on numerous CD, TV and DVD productions, including for Udo Jürgens, Stefan Raab and Tom Gaebel.

In 2002, he released his debut CD "happy weeks" and founded the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, which plays regularly at the Stadtgarten Köln. Other albums include "Into the Blue" (2010) and "Monk" (2016), both with pianist Martin Sasse.

The event is supported by Stadtsparkasse Bocholt. Registration is not required.
