"Bocholt reads!": Christof Jauernig presents his book "Einausendmal Lebenssinn"

An inspiring evening on the question of personal meaningfulness awaits those interested on Thursday, 4 December 2025, at LernWerk. Author and former analyst Christof Jauernig will present his new book "Einausendmal Lebenssinn" and take the audience on a personal and social journey into the meaning of purpose. The event is a cooperation between the VHS, Bocholt City Library and Bocholt Family Education Centre.

The evening will centre on the question of what meaning in life means to different people. For his latest book, Christof Jauernig interviewed over 1,000 people in 66 cities and analysed their diverse responses. The result is a multi-layered insight that brings together experiences, perspectives and life paths and offers room for reflection. Jauernig links these results with his own biography. After many years in the banking sector, he realised that his job no longer made sense to him and decided to make a fundamental professional and personal change. Today, he is dedicated to questions relating to life design, finding meaning and individual changes of perspective.

As in his previous programmes, Jauernig combines stories, poetic texts, projections and his own piano improvisations. The interplay creates a special atmosphere that is both moving and thought-provoking. The event will conclude with an open question and answer session with the audience. The lecture offers impulses that provide orientation in turbulent times and encourage people to consciously focus on their own search for meaning.

The event is free of charge and will take place on Thursday, 4 December 2025, from 19:30 to 21:30 in the event hall "T-Spule" of the LernWerk. The hall's modern equipment includes an inductive hearing system, which contributes to barrier-free participation (hearing aids must have a T-coil).
