Bocholt Culture Days 2026: Five days of cultural enjoyment on the market square

Diverse programme with theatre, jazz, comedy, music, art and family activities with free admission

From 26 to 30 August 2026, the market square in front of the historic town hall will once again be transformed into a large open-air stage for the Bocholt Culture Days. Together with its cooperation partners, the City of Bocholt's Department of Culture and Education will present a varied programme for all generations. All events can be attended free of charge.

The well-known NN Theater from Cologne will kick things off on Wednesday, 26 August at 8 p.m. with its production "Till Eulenspiegel". The ensemble brings the adventures of the famous jester and folk hero to the stage with a great deal of enthusiasm, humour and musical elements.

On Thursday, 27 August, BOH-Jazz takes centre stage from 7.30 pm. The Christian Hassenstein Trio and renowned trumpeter Gerard Kleijn will present their usual varied programme. The concert takes place at the same time as the popular Bocholt evening market and promises an atmospheric summer evening in a special atmosphere.

Friends of cultivated humour will get their money's worth on Friday, 28 August. At 8 pm, singer-songwriter and cabaret artist FALK will be performing his current programme "Unverschämt" on the market square. With sharp wit, intelligent lyrics and musical skill, the artist provides the best entertainment.

Saturday, 29 August, will be organised by the Alte Molkerei. The programme begins at 4 pm with an open sing-along. A rousing super drum show follows at 5.15 pm. From 7 pm, the two live bands Mr Brassident and MÄLKA will provide musical highlights and an atmospheric finale to the evening.

On Sunday, 30 August, from 11 am to 6 pm, the "CityArt" art market invites visitors to stroll and discover. Organiser Michael Spogahn will once again be presenting numerous artists and creative works from Marktplatz to Neutorplatz. The offer is complemented by free hands-on activities for children organised by the city museum, the city archive and the Bocholt art and culture community.

A special highlight for families are the two performances by the Neumond puppet theatre. The puppet show "Big Wolf and Little Wolf" for children aged four and over will be performed at 11am and 3pm. Free online booking is recommended for these performances, as the number of seats is limited. Reservations can be made from 15 July 2026 at bocholt.de/kulturtage.

The Bocholt Culture Days are organised by the City of Bocholt's Department of Culture and Education. Cooperation partners are the Stadttheater Bocholt e.V., the Alte Molkerei and the Kinderschutzbund Ortsverband Bocholt.

The series of events is supported by Stadtsparkasse Bocholt and the Liftit company.

In 2026, the Bocholt Culture Days will once again stand for cultural diversity, encounters and shared experiences in the heart of the city. Visitors can look forward to five varied days of theatre, music, art and entertainment in the open air.
