(Ge)dicht an die Nacht: Successful poetry evening at Lake Aasee

At the blue hour on 19 July 2025, many curious Bocholters gathered at the bathing bay of the Aasee to enjoy poems and poetry by candlelight in various places in nature. Eight actors and actresses from Münster not only had works by well-known authors in their luggage, but also many poems "from Bocholt".

Some guests had submitted their own works for the evening. One particularly touching scene that evening was a somewhat older couple who had a self-written love poem read to them. "A real goosebump moment, a few tears were shed", says Jule Wanders from the Department of Culture and Education.

"The feedback from the guests was very positive across the board and many would like to see it repeated next year", says Wanders. The bay at Lake Aa was perfect for the evening, she says. The audience was enchanted by the " cosy stroll".

The event was organised by the Stadtensemble Münster and the city of Bocholt and took place as part of the Stadt.Land.Bühne (City.Country.Stage) project.
