Sustainable energy networks at I-Park Bocholt

The ReNET-EV project provides information on collaborative energy solutions for businesses

Bocholt - Rising energy costs and uncertainties regarding energy supply are posing ever-greater challenges for businesses. The new funding project "ReNET-EV - Regional grid-supporting energy networks in industrial estates" is therefore designed to develop innovative approaches that go beyond the individual business.

The aim is to support businesses in industrial estates in jointly developing sustainable, cost-effective and future-proof energy solutions. As part of an information event hosted by the City of Bocholt, Bocholt Economic Development and the Economic Development Agency for the District of Borken at Taro's restaurant in the industrial park, the project was presented today, Monday, and an explanation was given of how cooperative energy networks can be established in the I-Park Bocholt industrial and business park.

The focus is particularly on the benefits for the participating companies and the joint development of practical solutions. The project is also being supported by stadtwerker GmbH Bocholt (formerly BEW). Forty company representatives accepted the invitation.

The contact person for interested companies in the Borken district is Renate Warmers, warmers(at)wfg-borken(dot)de, innovation consultant at the Economic Development Agency for the Borken District (WFG Borken).

Background:
The ReNET-EV project runs from April 2026 to March 2029 and is funded with around 1.5 million euros from the North Rhine-Westphalia ERDF/JTF programme, which is co-financed by the European Union. The project partners are the economic development agencies of the districts of Borken, Coesfeld, Steinfurt and Warendorf, as well as the city of Münster, Münster University of Applied Sciences and RIZM Energy.

In the district of Borken, the I-Park Bocholt and the Gronau-Ost industrial estate are among the pilot sites where concepts for a climate-friendly and economically viable energy supply are being developed jointly.
