Kulturrucksack 2025: Graffiti & manga workshops in the city library

Free events in the Kulturrucksack NRW // Graffiti workshop from 18 to 21 August // Manga workshop from 14 to 16 October

As part of the Kulturrucksack NRW, the city library is inviting all graffiti and manga fans to two workshops during the summer and autumn holidays this year. Together with experts, anyone between the ages of 10 and 14 can design their own graffiti from 18 to 21 August and immerse themselves in manga worlds from 14 to 16 October. Registration is possible online and participation is free of charge.

The Kulturrucksack NRW programme gives children and young people between the ages of 10 and 14 the opportunity to take part in a wide range of cultural events free of charge. Various workshops with a creative focus take place throughout the state throughout the year. Bocholt City Library is taking part in the project with two offers on the subject of graffiti and manga, which offer all those interested the opportunity to try out and discover new things together during the summer and autumn holidays.

"We are looking forward to two great weeks of workshops with friendly artists and creative participants", says Martin Wintermeier from the city library. "I'm particularly looking forward to seeing what ideas the kids come up with on canvas or paper", he adds.

The graffiti workshop enters its third round

From 18 to 21 August, from 10 am to 4 pm, the popular graffiti workshop will take place again and continues to be in great demand. This time, the focus is on a particularly exciting question: What will our society look like in 100 years?

Together with graffiti artist Raphael Wiese, the young participants develop creative visions of the future - and then realise their ideas independently on canvas. The finished works of art can be seen in the entrance hall of the city library after the workshop.

Manga workshop during the autumn holidays

From 14 to 16 October, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., all manga fans can pick up a pencil and create their own work of art. Experienced artist Malte Frey will guide participants from the initial idea to the final stroke and provide valuable tips on all aspects of drawing. Together they will also develop characters and create stories so that all budding mangaka can go home with their own little work of art at the end of the 3-day workshop.

Online registration
