Living and learning in Europe

"EUpdate - Living and Learning in Europe" is the motto of the European Union's Europe Weeks 2023. And the LWL's big children's and family festival will also be involved.

"After we didn't know for a long time last year whether and in what form we would be able and allowed to hold the LWL Children's and Family Festival, we are glad this year that we have a little "more breathing space" in the planning together with the associations and organisations," said Museum Director Hermann-Josef Stenkamp.

"The participation is super, so that we can show how colourful Bocholt really is also at the ninth edition," added Bruno Wansing, Integration Officer of the City of Bocholt.

Sustainable family festival

In addition to the clubs and organisations, the municipality as a trainer and employer and the fire brigade will also present themselves on site. The district of Borken is also expected to present its Smart Region concept.

There will also be innovations in the area of "sustainability". "In order to completely avoid waste caused by disposable packaging, we are planning that all culinary offerings provided by the associations will be handed out in sustainable small bowls created by a bakery in Bocholt," announces Irina Fernandes-Krühler from the LWL. Visitors can dispose of these bowls in the organic waste.
