Traffic restrictions due to pipework and bridge construction on Uhlandstraße.Construction work on Uhlandstrasse enters the next phase
One-way street regulation from 5 February // Direction Rhede remains open // Diversions via B67 and ring road
From Thursday, 5 February 2026, the construction site on Uhlandstraße will switch to the next construction phase, which is why a one-way street regulation will be set up in the direction of Rhede. Traffic travelling in the direction of the Textilmuseum / Industriestraße will be widely diverted via the B67 and the ring road. The measure combines various infrastructure works and is expected to take several weeks.
The city of Bocholt is continuing the modernisation of Uhlandstraße. In order to minimise disruption for residents, several necessary measures will be carried out simultaneously during this period. The waste disposal and city cleaning company Bocholt (ESB) is completing the work on the cycle path bridge opposite the caravan site above the retention area of the Sand and Knufbach streams.
At the same time, Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung (BEW) is carrying out work on the water pipe. This measure is particularly necessary following a burst water pipe last December. At the end of all the construction work, the cycle path will be extensively refurbished in order to sustainably improve the quality of the route for cyclists.
For the duration of the work, Uhlandstraße will be closed to traffic in the direction of Textilmuseum / Industriestraße. Road users travelling from Rhede will be alerted to the diversion via the B67 by signs from the University of Applied Sciences onwards. All other traffic travelling towards the city centre will be routed via the ring road from Münsterstraße. Traffic travelling in the direction of Rhede will still be able to pass the roadworks. The city administration assumes that the work will take several weeks and asks all those affected for their understanding for the necessary restrictions.
