Dementia Awareness Day
Facial Resonance® - Perceiving and understanding non-verbal signals
Our facial expressions are an important part of our communication. They can reveal emotions that we sometimes conceal, either consciously or unconsciously - and thus offer fascinating insights into interpersonal interactions.
In her practical presentation, Margarete Stöcker, a Mimikresonanz® trainer, offers an insight into the world of facial expressions and emotional signals.
You will learn:
- the significance of our facial expressions in communication,
- how emotions can be reflected on our faces,
- how we can perceive and interpret facial signals more consciously,
- why careful observation and a mindful approach to interpretation are important.
Side notes on care and dementia
Using examples from the fields of care and support, the focus is on the significance that non-verbal communication can have, particularly when words are not always sufficient.
The topic of dementia is also addressed: how can facial and non-verbal cues help us to better recognise emotional needs? And what role do our own facial expressions play when interacting with people with dementia?
The talk is aimed at anyone interested in human communication and emotional signals - with particular insights for family carers, care staff and those supporting people with dementia.
Includes a coffee break and an opportunity for discussion.
Take a closer look - and discover what faces reveal.
