Care Guides - Guidance on all aspects of care
When care suddenly becomes an issue, it often raises many questions: Where can I get help? Who can advise me? What services are available in Bocholt? This is exactly where the care advisors come in.
Care guides are trained, volunteer-based contact persons. They listen, provide initial guidance and point out which advice and support services can help. If necessary, they put you in touch with the appropriate specialist service. However, they are not a substitute for professional care advice.
The care advisors work directly within Bocholt's neighbourhoods. There, at set times, they offer a local and straightforward point of contact - particularly for people who have had little previous experience with care and do not know who to turn to.
The service is free of charge and comes with no obligation.
We are currently looking for volunteer care navigators for Bocholt's neighbourhoods - if you would like to get involved or are interested in this role, please do get in touch here.
Visits to mark a 70th birthday - Well-informed as you embark on this new stage of life
Around the time of your 70th birthday, the town of Bocholt offers you a free, voluntary home visit.
During a personal chat, you can find out about topics that may become important now or in the future - for example , care and support, planning for the future, health, housing, respite care services or leisure activities.
This isn't just about care: even if you don't currently need any support, you'll find out who to turn to if you have any questions in the future.
This service is aimed at all residents of Bocholt who are turning 70 - regardless of whether they currently require care or support.
The visit takes place in your own home. This allows you to discuss your questions in familiar surroundings and at your own pace.
The discussions are led by the City of Bocholt's care professionals, Heidrun Rinke and Irma Sondermann, who are also well-versed in all the other topics mentioned.
Around the time of your 70th birthday, you will receive a letter from the City of Bocholt with a personalised offer of a home visit.
Residents who are younger or older can also contact the City of Bocholt's Senior Citizens' Office to arrange an appointment for a personalised consultation.

Social Services Referral - From the doctor to the right support
Sometimes there are problems or difficulties that require more than just medical help. Perhaps you need support with everyday life, have questions about care, feel lonely, or don't know who to turn to with your concerns.
If your doctor recognises that you need support, they may provide you with a social services referral. You can then contact the Senior Citizens' Office and arrange a counselling appointment.
This will draw your attention to the advice service at the City of Bocholt's Senior Citizens' Office. There, you will work together to identify the support that best suits your personal situation.
This service is aimed in particular at people in need of care, family carers and older people facing personal or social difficulties.
The consultation is voluntary. Together, we will look at what you need and who can help you further.
Even without a social services referral, you can contact the City of Bocholt's Senior Citizens' Office directly at any time to seek advice on your queries and the support options available.
