Sport: Protection of grass sports pitches extended until 21 January

The protection and thus closure of all grass sports fields in the Bocholt city area will be extended until 21 January 2024. It is still not permitted to train or play on the sports pitches.

Due to the condition of the pitch and the poor weather forecast, the extension of the closures is necessary according to the city's sports administration in order to prevent damage to the turf before regular match operations resume.

To support the regional league team of 1. FC Bocholt, the city will make the grass pitch "Am Kaisergarten" (formerly SC 26 Bocholt), which is currently no longer in regular use and will not be in regular use in the future, available to the club for training purposes, insofar as this is justifiable on the basis of the weather and the condition of the pitch.

Artificial turf and grass pitches are not affected by the closure.
